Composition and structure of conveyor belts

Release time:

2026-01-22

Drive unit Includes a motor, reducer, rollers, and other components that drive the conveyor belt to operate via friction or gear transmission.

Core body (core part)
Material: Classified according to application into rubber belts, plastic belts, metal belts, composite belts, and more.
Rubber belt: wear-resistant and impact-resistant, suitable for heavy-duty or harsh environments (such as mines and steel mills).
Plastic straps: lightweight and corrosion-resistant, commonly used in clean environments such as food and chemical industries.
Metal belts: High-temperature resistance and high strength, used in industries such as metallurgy and glass.
Structure: Layered design, comprising a cover layer (wear-resistant and corrosion-proof), a core layer (which bears tensile forces, such as canvas or steel cables), and a base layer (which enhances adhesion).
Drive unit
Including motors, reducers, rollers, and other components, the conveyor belt is driven by friction or gear transmission.
Supporting device
Roller assemblies: Support the conveyor belt and reduce running resistance. They are categorized into flat-type, groove-type, and self-aligning rollers, among others.
Support frame: Secures the idlers and ensures smooth operation of the conveyor belt.
Tensioning device
Adjust the tension of the conveyor belt to prevent slippage or excessive stretching. Common types include spiral and vertical weight-type mechanisms.
Auxiliary device
Cleaner: Removes residual materials from the belt surface to prevent slipping or corrosion.
Material guide chute: Controls the direction of material falling and reduces spillage.
Protective shield: Protects the drive mechanism and personnel safety.
